March Meeting
Meeting called to order at 7:15pm – 11 people present.

Financial Report (Treasurer)
Balance is $894.00 / 24 paid memberships.
Unfinished Business (President) – Club raised about $600 for Pam Wollmuth for Breast Cancer Fun Run. Next Fun Run scheduled for March 20th, snow permitting. Dustin and Jeremy Wollmuth reviewed their grooming experience with Lyon County’s groomer. Patty Wollmuth reminded club to pay Ron Renner for fence posts.

New Business (President) – Dustin Wollmuth motioned to “pass the hat” at fun runs for gas for emergency vehicles or have a donation box. Travis Dreessen seconded motion, all were in favor. Jeremy Wollmuth motioned to not create new trail maps but to add L58 to connect Ocheyedan and May City and A46 to connect Ashton to L40 and Highway 59 and just highlight them on the current maps. Duane Schram seconded motion, all were in favor.  Jason Darnell motioned to have 2nd Annual Summer Grill-Out at Sibley Pit Campground on Saturday June 26th starting at 5pm to whenever with club purchasing 30 hot dogs and 50 hamburger patties from Jakes Meat Market and the rest potluck style. Peggy Monier seconded motion, all were in favor. Shari Wollmuth brought a club trip to the Black Hills idea to the table. 3 dates are to be chosen from at next club meeting: weekend of January 29th, weekend of February 5th and weekend of March 5th – this trip will be minimum 3 night stay at either: Rec Springs, Executive Lodging Cabins, Trailshead or Mallo Camp. Anyone attending club ride must be a member. Cost will probably be about $100 per person for lodging for the entire weekend. Travel and gas to and from Black Hills can be determined between club members. Jeremy Wollmuth motioned to have a meeting on September 13th, 2010 at 7pm at The Court to decide where we are staying and who is going. Deadline to pay 100% of lodging will be September 30, 2010. Jerry Monier seconded motion, all were in favor. Osceola County Fair will be July 13 – 17, 2010. Jerry Monier motioned to have booth with just gas cards from donated local businesses and toys donated by club members for prizes. Jeremy Wollmuth seconded motion all were in favor. President reminded trail committee of season end duties such as taking down signs, marking culverts on county roads and trimming trees in Sibley on Winkel Trail. President reminded club of fall duties such as getting ready for 3rd Annual Meet & Greet Membership Drive, having membership cards ready, school meetings with both schools, grooming school, mark trails, place trail maps at businesses. President adjourned meeting at 9pm. 


February Meeting

Meeting called to order at 7:15pm – 10 people present.

Unfinished Business (President)
– Jeremy Wollmuth motioned to have February monthly club ride to Archer to Ye Ole Coffee Shop and meet at Jackrabbit Junction at noon, Jamie Molendorp seconded motion. Jason Darnell motioned to table kids ride to next season, Patty Wollmuth seconded motion. President announced membership cards will be ready and available next season. Jamie Molendorp attended S-O School board meeting and school approved club’s agenda. Trail maps in libraries, safety course flyers, and meeting one night in each school in fall to promote snowmobiling, safety, club, riding area, etc. President will contact schools in fall.
New Business (President) – Jamie Molendorp motioned to have club ride Sunday, March 7th to Rock Rapids Pizza Ranch meet at noon at Jackrabbit Junction, Jeremy Wollmuth seconded motion. Jeremy Wollmuth motioned to have another Fun Run March 20th snow permitting with registration 11am to noon at Jackrabbit Junction with stops in Ocheyedan, May City, Hartley, Sanborn and Sibley with 70/30 split and $5 for members/$10 for nonmembers. Jason Darnell seconded motion. Next meeting will be Monday March 8th at The Court in Sibley at 7pm. President adjourned meeting at 8:00pm.


January Meeting

Meeting called to order at 7:06pm – 10 people present.

Financial Report (Treasurer) $1,439.31 balance with 23 paid memberships.
Unfinished Business (President) – Thank you’s and fun run ads completed in newspapers. Fun Run this Saturday, Jamie Molendorp will do registration table and Lonnie VanWesten will do card table. Dustin Wollmuth’s pickup and trailer will be used for ride along. O’Brien County will groom. Club received permit from DNR. Next club ride is to the Winter Games on January 30th. Jeremy Wollmuth motioned to have a club ride February 13th, Jason Darnell seconded motion. Shari Wollmuth made a motion to have a Breast Cancer Fundraiser ride for Pam Wollmuth on February 27th, Jamie Molendorp seconded motion. Dustin Wollmuth motioned to have it be a free will offering and the club donate $100, Dan Molendorp seconded motion. Jamie Molendorp attended the School Board meeting and requested the schools assistance in reaching to the youth about snowmobile safety and the club. She will attend next school board meeting on February 8th to follow up. Membership cards should be available by January 22nd. So far following businesses: Merry Lanes, Corner Club, JR’s Bar, Palms, Glens Sports Center, Jackrabbit Junction. President will seek out Worthington Sports Center, Pizza Ranch, Cobblestone, Jackson Sports, and Jays in Sanborn. President reminded members to make sure sleds are registered for 2010.
New Business (President) – Rick Johnson motioned to have a kid ride but idea was tabled to next meeting. President will seek more information on insurance, permit, and land use. President talked about grooming experience with Lyon County and advised members to ride along if possible. Ivan Hoekstra of Ocheyedan will receive a free membership for use of his tools when groomer was broke down. Merv Hoermann discussed issues with electronic licensing machines and talked about State Convention at Kings Pointe in Storm Lake. Next meeting will be Monday February 8th at The Court in Sibley at 7pm. President adjourned meeting at 8:08pm.

DECEMBER MEETING:

Meeting called to order at 7:12pm – 13 people present.

Financial Report (Treasurer) - $946.32 previously but not including $640 raised at Meet & Greet plus several family memberships collected at tonight’s meeting. Randy Wills motioned to approve Financial Report, Jerry Monier seconded motion, and all were in favor.
Unfinished Business (President) – 2nd Annual Meet & Greet was better than last one, all were satisfied with it and propose to do it the same next year. Thank you for businesses and Sportsmens club will go in next weeks paper as well as club ride info for Jan 2nd. Jamie Molendorp volunteered to attend next school board meeting to discuss working with the school to educate youth about club, trails and safety. Poker Run for Jan 16th – President will get necessary forms completed for DNR, Insurance, and IA Inspection and Appeals. Poker run will be: registration at Jackrabbit Junction, then ride to Ocheyedan, May City, Melvin, Ashton and end at Alley 7. Each hand $5 for members and $10 for nonmembers. 70/30 split, top monies TBD. Will make flyers and put in papers. Fence posts did not get put in, but some signage can be placed in dangerous areas. Trail maps need to be delivered to businesses yet.  

New Business (President) – Dustin Monier motioned to stick with the leased groomers instead of purchasing our own. Dan Molendorp seconded motion and all were in favor. Reminders were mentioned: Lyon County Ice Races for Saturday, Snowmobile Safety Class in Arnolds Park Saturday, registered sleds and trailers before Jan. 1st and Membership dues are now due (currently 19 memberships collected). Membership dues were collected and paid: 3 families and a single. Next monthly meeting will be Monday, January 11th at 7pm at The Court in Sibley. President adjourned meeting at 8:36 pm.

NOVEMBER MEETING:

Meeting called to order at 7:07pm – 6 people present.

Financial Report (Treasurer) $906.32 in club account presently not including recent memberships collected. Jason Darnell motioned to approve Financial Report, Dustin Wollmuth seconded motion, and all were in favor.
Unfinished Business (President) – State Convention in 2010 will be at Kings Pointe in Storm Lake in Region 1. Merv Hoerman will give us more info at a later date. Trail Committee started signage on Highway 9 and will finish signage on 59 and 9 and try and get fence posts in on County Roads depending on farming season. Meet & Greet: Randy VandeBerg will bring brat patties, Jason & Brenda Darnell and Jeremy & Patty Wollmuth will bring hot dog and hamburger buns, Brian Monier will bring scotcharoos, Dustin & Shari Wollmuth will bring pop, bars and snacks, Tasha Bos will bring beans and hot dogs, Dwaine Schram will bring chips. Other members will be notified on what to bring. Shari Wollmuth will contact businesses for prizes, Peggy and Brian Monier volunteered to donate prizes as well.
New Business (President) – Jason Darnell motioned to have President send Meet & Greet Invitations and membership signups to potential members, Brian Monier seconded motion, and all were in favor. Dustin Wollmuth motioned to put a newspapers ad in county papers for Meet and Greet and thank Sportsmens Club for donation, Brian Monier seconded motion, and all were in favor. Tasha Bos motioned to have club put up snowmobile club flyers at schools and local businesses, Jason Darnell seconded motion, and all were in favor.  Jason Darnell motioned to have Jan 30th club ride to Winter Games an open invitation with Lyon and O’Brien county clubs, Dwaine Schram seconded motion, and all were in favor. Membership dues were collected and paid: 2 families. President adjourned meeting at 7:51pm. 


OCTOBER MEETING:

Meeting called to order at 7:11pm – 15 people present.

Minutes of Last Meeting were read by Secretary

Merv Hoermann Discussed: Snowmobile Safety at NCC December 12th, Call College to register. ISSA State Convention is November 13-15 in Waterloo at Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center- requested that we send a couple from our club. Regional meeting was held to get State Convention at Kings Pointe in Storm Lake, Iowa. He will let us know next meeting if Region 1 gets location for 2010. Facts & Myths booklets were given to President to be disbursed at School libraries, mayors, sheriff and Board of Supervisors. Region 1 club rides, let other clubs know. Membership cards encouraged for club.

Financial Report (Treasurer) - $906.32 in club account presently. Osceola County Sportsmen Club donated $500.00. State Grants have been approved for in the amount of $5,000.00 for fuel and for lease. Summer Raffle broke even. Taylor Hibbing motioned to approve Financial Report, Patty Wollmuth seconded motion, and all were in favor.

Unfinished Business (President) – Kendall Helmers motioned to get a picture of check with a member from Osceola Sportsman Club for their donation and put a thank you in newspaper Peggy Monier seconded motion, all were in favor. Fence posts need to be put in yet on county roads, Trail Committee agreed to have this completed by November 15th – must call sheriff before, 1 person per ATV, have proof of insurance and wear vests. Four hand-held post pounders were offered to use. Kendall Helmers motioned to have Meet & Greet at Willow Creek again on Sunday December 6th from noon to 4 if available, Peggy Monier seconded motion, and all were in favor. President will call and check availability and reserve. Patty Wollmuth motioned to table food and prizes for Meet and Greet until next meeting, Jason Darnell seconded motion, and all were in favor.

New Business (President) – Jeremy Wollmuth motioned to have at least 2 club rides a month, Brian Monier seconded motion, and all were in favor. Dates all in favor are: Dec 12 and 19, Jan 2, 16 and 30 – being the club ride to Winter Games, Feb 13 and 27, March 13 and 27 - dates subject to change. Jeremy Wollmuth motioned to have a Fun Run Jan 16th, Jason Darnell seconded motion, and all were in favor. President will fill out necessary forms and send them to IA DNR. Peggy Monier motioned to keep monthly meetings this season at the Court in Sibley every 2nd Monday of the month at 7pm, Dustin Wollmuth seconded motion, all were in favor. President discussed Iowa DNR Agreement Sheets, all were in favor and President signed said documents. Taylor Hibbing encouraged members to fill out Ski-Doo/BRP $10 donation certificate at dealers so club receives $10 from each form. President Reminders: register snowmobiles and trailers for the 2010 year, check highpointriders.com for updates, club listed now at iowasnowmobiler.org and Iowa Snowmobiler Magazine, and November 8, 2010 is 3-year term officer voting. Membership dues were collected and paid: 2 families, 2 single. Collected and unpaid: 2 families. President adjourned meeting at 8:25 pm.
